Therapeutic indications
Flevox Spot-on dogs 268 mg is used in dogs for the treatment of flea (ctenocephalides spp.) and biting lice (trichodectes canis) infestations. The insecticidal activity against new adult flea infestations persists for 8 weeks. The fleas that settle subsequently are eliminated within 48 hours of application on the animal. The product can be used in the program for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAP) if this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.
The product did not demonstrate an immediate acaricidal effect against ticks but demonstrated a persistent acaricidal efficacy for up to 4 weeks against rhipicephalus sanguineus and dermacentor reticulatus and up to 3 weeks against ixodes ricinus. If ticks of these species are present when the product is applied, not all may be eliminated within the first 48 hours, but they can be eliminated within a week.
Dosage and administration
For topical skin application only.
Apply:
- 1 pipette of 0.67 ml for dogs weighing between 2 and 10 kg
- 1 pipette of 1.34 ml for dogs weighing between 10 and 20 kg
- 1 pipette of 2.68 ml for dogs weighing between 20 and 40 kg
- 1 pipette of 4.02 ml for dogs weighing between 40 and 60 kg
- for dogs weighing more than 60 kg apply 2 pipettes of 2.68 ml.
The minimum application interval is 4 weeks. Part the hair between the animal's shoulder blades until the skin is exposed.
Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and gradually press until the contents are completely emptied onto the skin. It is important to ensure that the product is applied in an area where the animal cannot lick it and to ensure that the animals do not lick each other after application.
Avoid wetting the animal's fur too much with the product because this creates a sticky appearance of the hair where the treatment is applied. However, if it does occur, this effect generally disappears within 24 hours of application, but may persist for up to 2 weeks.
Contraindications
In the absence of available data, do not use in puppies less than 8 weeks of age or in dogs weighing less than 2 kg, in the absence of available data. Do not use in sick animals (systemic diseases, fever...) or convalescent animals.
Do not use in rabbits, as potentially fatal adverse reactions may occur.
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to fipronil or any of the excipients. Do not administer orally. This product was specially developed for dogs. Do not use in cats as this may result in overdose.

One pipette contains: flevox small breed dogs: butylated hydroxyanisole (e320) 0.268 and butylated hydroxytoluene (e321) 0.134 mg; flevox medium-sized dogs: butylated hydroxyanisole (e320) 0.536 and butylated hydroxytoluene (e321) 0.268 mg; flevox large dogs: butylated hydroxyanisole (e320) 1.072 and butylated hydroxytoluene (e321) 0.536 mg; flevox giant breed dogs: butylated hydroxyanisole (e320) 1.608 and butylated hydroxytoluene (e321) 0.804 mg.
