Therapeutic indications

In cats: for the treatment of flea (ctenocephalides spp.) and tick (rhipicephalus sanguineus) infestations. The insecticidal activity against new adult flea infestations persists for 4 weeks. The fleas that settle subsequently are eliminated within 48 hours of application on the animal. The product can be used in the program for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAP) if this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian. The product has an effective persistent acaricidal action for up to 1 week against ticks (rhipicephalus sanguineus and dermacentor reticulatus). If rhipicephalus sanguineus ticks are present when the product is applied, not all of them could be eliminated within the first 48 hours, but they can be eliminated within a week.

Dosage and administration

For topical skin application only. Apply a 0.5 ml pipette per cat. The minimum application interval is 4 weeks. Open the fur on the animal's shoulder blades until the skin is exposed. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and gradually squeeze until the contents are completely emptied onto the skin. It is important to ensure that the product is applied in an area where the animal cannot lick it and to ensure that animals do not lick each other after application. Avoid wetting the animal's fur too much because this creates a sticky appearance of the fur at the treatment site. However, if this were to happen, this disappears within 24 hours of application, but may persist for up to 2 weeks.

Contraindications

In the absence of available data, do not use in kittens less than 8 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 1 kg, in the absence of available data. Do not use in sick (systemic diseases, fever...) or convalescent animals. Do not use in rabbits, as potentially fatal adverse reactions may occur. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to fipronil or any of the excipients. Do not administer orally.

Excipients

Butylated hydroxyanisole (e320) 0.2 mg, butylated hydroxytoluene (e321) 0.1 mg.
