Therapeutic indications
Frontline Tri-Act 6 pipettes 40 to 60 kg is a pesticide for the treatment and prevention of flea and/or tick infestations where repellent activity (anti-feeding) against sandflies, horse flies and/or mosquitoes is necessary.
For the treatment and prevention of ctenocephalides felis flea infestations and the prevention of ctenocephalides canis flea infestations.
The product eliminates fleas c. felis present on the animal within 24 hours. One treatment prevents subsequent flea infestations for 4 weeks.
The product can be used as part of a strategic treatment for flea allergy dermatitis where it has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.
The product has a repellent effect against ticks (dermacentor reticulatus) from 7 days and up to 4 weeks after treatment. However, individual ticks can attach to the dog and come off within the first 24 hours of infestation.
The product has immediate acaricidal efficacy against rhipicephalus sanguineus and ixodes ricinus but it is possible that not all ticks will be eliminated within 48 hours of treatment if they are already present at the time of application of the product. The product has acaricidal efficacy against ticks (ixodes ricinus, dermacentor reticulatus, rhipicephalus sanguineus) lasting for 4 weeks.
Frontline tri-act has a repellent (anti-feeding) efficacy for 3 weeks against sandflies (phlebotomus perniciosus) and for 4 weeks against mosquitoes (culex pipiens).
The product has a persistent insecticidal efficacy for 3 weeks against sandflies (phlebotomus perniciosus).
Repels and eliminates horse flies (stomoxys calcitrans) for five weeks.
Dosage and administration
For topical skin application (spot-on use).
The following table indicates the pipette to use based on the dog's weight:
- Very small dogs 2-5 kg; single dose volume (ml): 0.5; fipronil (mg): 33.8; permethrin (mg): 252.4
- Small dogs 5-10 kg; single dose volume (ml): 1; fipronil (mg): 67.6; permethrin (mg): 504.8
- Medium dogs 10-20 kg; single dose volume (ml): 2; fipronil (mg): 135.2; permethrin (mg): 1009.6
- Large dogs 20-40 kg; single dose volume (ml): 4; fipronil (mg): 270.4; permethrin (mg): 2019.2
- Very large dogs 40-60 kg; single dose volume (ml): 6; fipronil (mg): 405.6; permethrin (mg): 3028.8
- Dogs over 60 kg: use the appropriate combination of the above pipettes for dogs weighing over 60 kg, use the correct combination of two pipette sizes, which corresponds as closely as possible to the body weight of the dog.
Treatment program: the use of the product must be based on the treatment of a confirmed infestation or on a risk of infestation by fleas and/or ticks, where repellent activity (anti-feeding) against sandflies and/or mosquitoes and/or horse flies is also necessary.
Repeat treatment may be indicated depending on exposure to ectoparasites. In these cases, the interval between two consecutive treatments should be at least 4 weeks. Choose the right size pipette based on your dog's weight. For dogs weighing more than 60 kg, use the correct combination of two pipette sizes, which corresponds as closely as possible to the dog's body weight. The product must be applied in two places out of the dog's licking range of the application site. These points are at the base of the head and at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades.
Contraindications
Do not use in sick or convalescent animals.
Do not use in cats or rabbits, as potentially fatal adverse reactions may occur.
Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
