Therapeutic indications
Nemex Cani is indicated for the therapy and prevention of roundworm and hookworm infestations in puppies and adult dogs.
Dosage and administration
14.5 mg of pyrantel pamoate equal to 5 mg of pyrantel base per kg of dog body weight. 10g tube and 24g tube: two cm of paste per kg of body weight. Nemex must be administered in a single time without keeping the dog on an empty stomach and without requiring it to follow a particular diet. The palatability of nemex allows you to spread the preparation directly into the animal's mouth or, in the case of unsociable animals, mixed with food. Prophylaxis: prophylaxis is carried out to keep the dog free from worms and avoid the risk of infestation for humans (particularly children) by dogs affected by worms. Furthermore, prophylactic treatment with nemex allows the dog to: be more resistant to other diseases; you tolerate fatigue more with the consequent possibility of better performances; you have a more alert sensorium; has a better overall appearance, in particular with shinier fur. Puppies: one treatment at the age of 10 - 14 days, to be repeated between the 4th and 8th week of age. Remember in particular the primary importance of pre-vaccination treatment, since the presence of parasites is capable of interfering with the establishment of solid vaccination immunity. Females: one treatment 15 days before mating; a second treatment one week before giving birth; a third treatment 4 weeks after giving birth. This series of interventions tends to avoid infestation of the puppies during pregnancy and subsequently, after giving birth, through the colostrum and milk sucked by the mother during the first days of life. Competition dogs: one treatment 15 - 20 days before the competition. Hunting dogs: treatment 15 - 20 days before the hunting season. All other dogs: one treatment in early spring, to be repeated in early autumn. Treatment of roundworm and hookworm infestations: the treatment must be carried out immediately every time the presence of parasites is ascertained and repeated 2 -3 weeks later.
