Therapeutic indications
For the treatment of mixed infestations caused by the following gastrointestinal roundworms and tapeworms: roundworms: toxocara cati, toxascaris leonina. Tapeworms: dipylidium caninum, taenia taeniaeformis, echinococcus multilocularis.
Dosage and administration
Dosage. The recommended dosing rate is as follows: 20 mg pyrantel (57.5 mg/kg pyrantel embonate) and 5 mg/kg praziquantel. This is equivalent to 1 tablet per 4 kg of body weight. Body weight: 1.0-2.0kg; tablets: ½; body weight: 2.1-4.0 kg; tablets: 1; body weight: 4.1-6.0 kg; tablets: 1 ½; body weight: 6.1-8.0 kg; tablets: 2. Administration and duration of treatment. Administration of a single oral dose. The tablet must be administered directly to the cat, but if necessary it can be hidden in food. In roundworm infestations, especially in kittens, it is possible that elimination is not complete, which is why the risk of infection for humans may persist. Therefore, treatment with a suitable roundworm product should be repeated at 14-day intervals until 2-3 weeks after weaning.
