Prescription Diet™ s/d™ Feline
Recommended for:
- Dissolution of struvite uroliths.
Not recommended for:
- Kittens
- Pregnant or breastfeeding females
- Long-term administration without monitoring acid-base status (due to the acidifying properties of urine)
- Cats with non-struvite uroliths
- Cats with kidney disease or metabolic acidosis
More information
- Do not administer urinary acidifiers at the same time as s/d Feline
- Monitor urine and check for urinary tract infection, if present. Urinary pH will increase if the infection with urease-producing bacteria is not eliminated. The urinary pH must always be acidic to achieve dissolution.
- After initial administration of s/dTM Feline for 2-3 months, recurrences of struvite-associated FLUTD can usually be reduced by administering Prescription Diet™ c/d™ Multicare Feline or Feline c/d™ Multicare Urinary Stress Reduced Calorie or w/d™ Feline.
- If FLUTD recurs during administration with c/dTMMulticare Feline or Feline c/d™ Multicare Urinary Stress Reduced Calorie or Feline c/d™ Urinary Stress orw/d™ Feline, monitor urinary pH, rule out any infections or reanalyze the type of uroliths and crystals.
