ACANA brings benefits to puppies of any breed and size. Just like you, your puppy has unique feeding needs depending on his environment, age and activity level.
The table below is a guideline to adjust as needed to maintain a healthy weight and peak health. We recommend monitoring your puppy's weight and adjusting portions accordingly. The recommended frequency is two meals a day, always leaving fresh, clean water available.
Use a standard 250ml/120g measuring cup. Serve dry or slightly moistened. We recommend that you visit your trusted veterinarian regularly. To best maintain the freshness of the product, we recommend carefully closing the bag and storing it in a cool, dry place.
CALORIE CONTENT
Unique compared to conventional foods, ACANA provides more calories from proteins and fats than carbohydrates, reducing the risk of obesity and promoting optimal shape for your dog.

The gray wolf is the ancestor of all dogs. Although years and years of breeding have produced "different-looking wolves," the internal functions of modern pups and their wild wolf cousins have remained unchanged, so it's no wonder their dietary needs are unchanged.
RICH IN ANIMAL INGREDIENTS (70%)
From a biological point of view, puppies have evolved to eat a diet rich in meat. For this reason, ACANA Puppy & Junior contains 70% animal ingredients, including free-range chicken, wild-caught plaice and whole eggs laid in nests, all coming from regional farms and declared fit for human consumption.
Common puppy foods, on the other hand, often have a low content of animal ingredients which, in turn, rarely come from the human food chain.
HIGH AMOUNT OF FRESH ANIMAL INCLUSIONS (1/3)
Fresh animal ingredients are in their most nutritious and natural form. For this reason, 1/3 of the poultry, fish and eggs present in ACANA are truly fresh and rich in goodness and flavour, while 2/3 are dehydrated to provide a rich and natural source of animal proteins. All the animals from which our ingredients come are declared fit for human consumption. — a rarity in today's pet foods!
Common dog foods, on the other hand, rarely contain truly fresh animal ingredients.
A VARIETY OF WHOLE ANIMAL INGREDIENTS (3)
In the wild, dogs can eat a rich variety of prey. For this reason, ACANA contains a diversity of ingredients including free-range chicken, whole eggs and whole fish, all in the rich WholePrey™ proportions of meat, organs and cartilage that reproduce the natural diet, without the long list of synthetic additives found in common dog foods.
Common dog foods, on the other hand, contain one or two animal ingredients, rarely in the proportions of whole prey (WholePrey™), and have a long list of synthetic additives.
RICH IN ANIMAL PROTEINS (33%)
Completely free of potato and pea protein concentrates, ingredients generally found in common dog foods, ACANA's high protein content comes from high-quality animal (non-vegetable) ingredients, which promote lean muscle mass and provide dogs with the nutrients necessary for their nutritional needs.
Common dog foods, on the other hand, are generally low in protein (and with a high carbohydrate content) or contain vegetable protein concentrates to increase the protein content, which are unsuitable for pets.
CARBOHYDRATES LIMITED TO (25%)
Carbohydrates, established as one of the main causes of obesity and diabetes, are a very marginal element of the dog's diet. For this reason, ACANA limits the carbohydrate content and replaces quickly absorbed carbohydrates (such as those from rice, potatoes and tapioca) with low glycemic index fruits and vegetables.
Common dog foods, on the other hand, often contain over 50% carbohydrates and ingredients with a high glycemic index.
