Therapeutic indications
For washing and antisepsis of the ears in otitis caused by bacteria sensitive to chlorhexidine.
In particular, the concentration of 1.5 mg/ml of chlorhexidine in deroxen oto is effective within 15 minutes against the following germs: pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococcus aureus, staphylococcus epidermidis, staphylococcus intermedius, enterobacter cloacae, providencia alcalifaciens, malassezia pachydermatis.
The concentration of chlorhexidine used is not ototoxic even in the presence of perforation of the eardrum.
Dosage and administration
For headset use. To irrigate the ear canal, use the quantity of liquid necessary depending on the size of the animal to remove debris and exudates, which must then be aspirated or cleansed according to normal practice with gauze and cotton wool. For antisepsis, apply every day or every other day according to the veterinary surgeon's opinion.
Deroxen is a product with a disinfectant and deodorant action to obtain a solution containing chlorhexidine, it is a synthetic antibacterial agent, used to disinfect the skin and oral mucous membranes, effective against gram positive bacteria and is also quite active against gram negative bacteria, furthermore, the substance is also active against fungi and encapsulated viruses. At high doses, it proves to be extremely harmful to the body, however, when diluted appropriately.
Duration of therapy: at the discretion of the veterinary surgeon. To clean the ear, use the product when necessary.
