PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: Tablets

USE/ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:

For oral use.

DOSAGE: To be administered exclusively orally. The recommended dose is 5 mg/kg praziquantel, 14.4 mg/kg pyrantel embonate and 20 mg/kg fenbendazole (this corresponds to 1 tablet/10 kg body weight). For routine treatments a single dose will be sufficient. P

To ensure administration of the correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. The correct dosage must be established by your veterinarian. In case of diagnosis of helminthiasis, the treatment must be repeated after 14 days.

Method of administration:

the tablet can be administered directly orally or mixed with food, after crushing it.

During the treatment it is not necessary to leave the animal to fast. In cases where infestation with tapeworms or nematodes alone is confirmed, a monovalent product containing a cestocide or nematocide should be used.

STORAGE: Store at a temperature below +25 degrees C., in a dry place, protected from light.

Store in the original packaging. Discard and then do not store any remaining tablet.

Place the halved tablet back in the package.

WARNINGS:

Pyrantel should be administered with caution to dogs suffering from cachexia.

Parasitic resistance to any particular class of anthelmintics may develop following frequent and repeated use of an anthelmintic of that class.

Fleas serve as intermediate hosts and sources of infection for a common type of flatworm, Dipylidium caninum.

Flatworm infestations can reappear if intermediate hosts as well as the surrounding environment are not kept under control at the same time as treatment.

It is recommended to keep dogs confined for 24 hours after treatment and to properly dispose of excreted feces, containing whole worms, segments and eggs. It is recommended to often clean and disinfect the environment in which the animals live.

In debilitated or severely infested animals, the product should only be used after risk/benefit assessment.

Use on animals less than 6 weeks of age may not be necessary.

Stool control tests or treatment with a nematicide product may be necessary for Ancylostoma caninum or Toxocara canis infections. Special precautions for those who administer the veterinary medicinal product to animals: in case of accidental ingestion, contact a doctor immediately and show him the package leaflet or the label.

Persons with known hypersensitivity to praziquantel, pyrantel embonate or fenbendazole should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product. Wash your hands after use.

Keep children away from dogs in the days following treatment.

Overdose:

in clinical trials regarding tolerance, on the target animal species, the clinical, hematological and biochemical parameters detected were not significant even with the administration of the correct dosage 5 times over the course of 3 days.

Overdose of this medicine can occur very rarely in real conditions of use due to its wide therapeutic range. If suspected toxic reactions occur due to extreme dosage, the treatment to be initiated, if necessary, must be symptomatic.

TARGET SPECIES:

Dogs

INTERACTIONS: Do not use simultaneously with piperazine-based preparations as the anthelmintic effects of pyrantel and piperazine may be antagonistic.

Likewise, do not administer concomitantly with organic phosphates and diethylcarbamazine. Due to the similar mechanism of action and toxicological characteristics, do not use this anthelmintic simultaneously with morantel and morantel combinations.

DIAGNOSIS AND PRESCRIPTION:

Veterinary medicinal product without veterinary prescription.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING:

The safety of the veterinary medicinal product in dogs during early pregnancy has not been established. Do not use in pregnant bitches during the first four weeks of gestation.

After this period and during lactation, use only in accordance with the benefit-risk assessment of the responsible veterinarian. In breeding dogs, use only in accordance with the benefit/risk assessment.
