Therapeutic indications
Panacur 500 mg is a fenbendazole-based anthelmintic, indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal worms in dogs and cats.
The product is particularly effective against giardia infestations in dogs.
Indicated for the treatment of:
- hookworms
- roundworms
- tapeworms
- whipworms
In the case of infestation with roundworms and tapeworms, it is advisable to repeat the treatment in consideration of the development cycle of the parasite, from larva to mature stage.
Dosage and administration
Administer the product orally, mixing the tablets with food after dissolving them in a little water.
Panacur Forte tablets have a neutral flavor and are therefore easy to administer.
To ensure administration of a correct dose, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible.
The dosage for dogs and cats is 50 mg of fenbendazole/kg body weight/day.
The recommended dosage is as follows:
- cats: ½ tablet (= 250 mg fenbendazole) per 5 kg body weight.
- dogs: 1 tablet (= 500 mg fenbendazole) per 10 kg body weight.
The treatment must be repeated for three consecutive days.
The administration of milk during treatment is not recommended.
