Aticare Dermocollar 75 cm 27 g is an anti-parasitic collar specifically developed for dogs weighing more than 7 kg. Designed to offer prolonged protection against fleas and ticks, this collar is 75cm long and contains an effective formulation distributed evenly thanks to controlled release technology. The flexible and durable material allows the collar to fit comfortably around your dog's neck, ensuring a secure fit without causing any discomfort. Regular use of Aticare Dermocollar reduces the risk of parasitosis and associated complications, such as skin irritation, allergies and transmission of pathogens carried by ticks. The product is free of unpleasant odors and maintains its properties even in the presence of humidity or rain, thus ensuring constant protection in all weather conditions. It is recommended for owners of active dogs who spend a lot of time outdoors, and in particular in seasons with a high risk of infestation.
Therapeutic Indications
The Aticare Dermocollar collar is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea (Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides canis) and tick (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus) infestations in large breed dogs, i.e. weighing more than 7 kg. Thanks to its persistent action, it helps to reduce the presence of parasites both in subjects exposed occasionally and in those living in heavily infested environments. The product offers continuous protection for up to 8 months and can be used as an integral part of preventive strategies for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), limiting relapses and other side effects on the dog's health. Furthermore, the collar is effective in reducing the transmission of some vector diseases such as babesiosis and borreliosis, transmitted by ticks. Recommended treatment during periods of increased parasite activity, supports the general well-being of animals in rural and urban contexts.
Composition
Active ingredients: The collar contains a mixture of active ingredients designed to ensure optimal defense against fleas and ticks, which gradually disperse over time along the animal's fur and skin. The composition is designed to ensure safe use, avoiding toxic accumulations and minimizing the risk of secondary effects.
Excipients: The collar includes flexible polymeric materials, absorption aids, stabilizers and binding agents that promote the slow diffusion of the active ingredients on the coat. The mixture without aggressive solvents makes the product suitable even for dogs with sensitive skin. No coloring agent or synthetic flavoring has been added, guaranteeing a composition that is as natural as possible and dry to the touch. All components are compatible with long-term use and designed to reduce local irritation.
Contraindications
Do not use the Aticare Dermocollar collar on puppies under 7 weeks of age or on dogs weighing less than 7 kg. It is contraindicated in subjects with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients of the product. In the event of the presence of extensive skin lesions on the neck or in areas of contact with the collar, it is advisable to postpone its application until the skin has completely healed. Use is not recommended in dogs with acute untreated dermatological pathologies and in subjects with a history of serious allergic reactions to pesticide products. Always consult your veterinarian before application if your dog has particular health conditions. Avoid concomitant use with other products containing similar compounds to prevent adverse reactions due to overdose.
Safety of the drug for the species
The collar has been extensively tested to ensure safe use in dogs over 7 kg; its localized action and controlled release limit the systemic absorption of the active ingredients and consequently side effects are rare and mild, generally reversible with removal of the collar. During clinical studies, no significant alterations in the physiological parameters of treated dogs were observed. Although the risk is extremely low, transient reactions such as itching or local redness at the application site may still occur. Prolonged use of up to 8 months is considered safe even for sensitive breeds. However, constant monitoring is recommended in dogs with pre-existing conditions of fragile skin or chronic dermatitis, to intervene promptly in case of irritation or tolerance problems.
Precautions
Keep out of reach of children and animals not receiving treatment. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying or contacting the collar. Avoid letting your dog chew or ingest parts of the collar. In case of obvious skin reaction (dermatitis, swelling, extensive redness), remove the product immediately and consult your veterinarian. Do not use on animals with previous liver or kidney disease without veterinary supervision. It is important to periodically check the collar to make sure it is intact and well positioned. If broken or lost, replace with a new anti-parasitic collar. Avoid direct contact of the product with the eyes of animals or people and always use in well-ventilated areas when handling.
Method of administration
Remove the collar from the package only immediately before use and place it delicately around the dog's neck, adjusting the length so that one or two fingers can easily pass between the animal's neck and the collar itself. Secure the closure and cut any excess part taking into account the growth of the animal, if necessary. The collar must be worn continuously to ensure the effectiveness of the protection; bathing or rain does not reduce its protective activity, but it is still recommended to remove it temporarily before frequent bathing to prolong the life of the product. Make sure your dog only wears one collar at a time and that it is secure but not overly tight.
Treatment program
To ensure maximum protection, it is recommended to start treatment with Aticare Dermocollar shortly before the start of the infesting season and to replace the collar every 8 months or in the event of loss or damage. Continuous use of the collar effectively prevents new flea and tick infestations and helps reduce the presence of these parasites even in the home environment. In case of an already active infestation, it is advisable to simultaneously treat all cohabiting animals with adequate pesticide products. For dogs that go outside regularly or live in rural and wooded areas, the protection program should be maintained continuously to cover the entire risk season. Consult your veterinarian regularly to evaluate any specific needs and adapt the treatment protocol based on the local epidemiological situation.
