Seresto and Scalibor: documented differences between collars

Seresto and Scalibor are different medicines. The choice cannot be based on stated duration alone: target parasites, size, warnings and the individual dog all matter.

Different products, not automatic substitutes

The verified Italian presentations contain different active substances. Their authorised spectrum, directions for use and precautions therefore differ as well.

Duration and indications must be read in the documentation for the exact size; they must not be transferred from one collar to another or combined into an absolute ranking.

How to compare them

Consider size, minimum age, geographical area, exposure to fleas, ticks and sand flies, contact with water, cohabitation with other species and skin conditions.

Local or systemic reactions should be reported to the veterinarian. Any combination with another antiparasitic product requires a specific assessment.
