Antiparasitic collars for dogs: how to choose

There is no single collar that is best for every dog. Species, size, local parasites, environment and the instructions for the specific pack all determine the right choice.

Start with the actual risk

Fleas, ticks, sand flies and mosquitoes differ in both distribution and health significance. Protection should be selected according to location, season, lifestyle, travel and the dog’s condition.

The active ingredients and duration stated for one brand or presentation cannot be assumed to apply to the entire category.

Read the exact presentation

Before use, check the species, collar length, active ingredient, authorised target parasites, warnings, water resistance and application instructions. A product intended for dogs must not be used on another species unless this is explicitly authorised.

Combining it with other antiparasitic products requires professional assessment: using more products does not automatically provide better protection.
