EU framework in force since 22 April 2026
Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/131 has applied since 22 April 2026 and supplements Regulation (EU) 2016/429 for non-commercial movements of pet animals.
Documents and requirements depend on the route. Before departure, check the official EU pages and the authorities of the destination country rather than relying on static lists.
Possible exposure
After a bite or suspicious contact, wash the wound and contact health services immediately; for the animal, involve the veterinarian and, where required, the competent authority.
Do not wait for symptoms to appear and do not attempt a diagnosis at home.
