Palladia in dogs: indication and monitoring

Palladia is not a general treatment for all tumours and must not be extended to cats. It is a veterinary oncology treatment that requires monitoring.

Specific indication

Toceranib is described only for the canine indication stated in the summary of product characteristics. The tumour’s type, grade and clinical situation must be assessed by a veterinary oncologist.

The presence of a tumour does not automatically make the medicine appropriate.

Monitoring

Before and during treatment, the veterinarian schedules clinical and laboratory checks. Changes, pauses or discontinuation are not recommended online.

Gastrointestinal effects, bleeding or significant changes must be reported promptly.

Handling

The product requires precautions for the person handling it and for the management of contaminated materials. Follow the leaflet and the veterinary facility’s instructions strictly.
