Cardotek Plus and ivermectin: indications

Cardotek Plus must be described using the composition and indications of the current Italian presentation. It does not contain praziquantel.

Identity of the medicine

The official composition lists ivermectin and pyrantel. The product must not be presented as a general treatment for internal and external parasites.

The trade name, formulation and dispensing status are checked in the UPD.

Prevention under veterinary supervision

Preventing filariasis requires assessment of risk, treatment history and testing where indicated. A universal schedule is not published.

The presence of other parasites requires a separate diagnosis.

Genetic sensitivity

Sensitivity associated with genetic variants must not be turned into an arbitrary list of breeds or a certain prediction. Questions and previous reactions should be discussed with the veterinarian.
