Therapeutic indications
Exspot is the line of anti-parasitic vials for dogs based on permethrin, which protects them for up to four weeks.
It is effective against various species of dog parasites, including:
- ticks
- fleas
- phlebotomists
- mosquitoes
- lice
- flies
Its repellent effectiveness against sandflies and mosquitoes makes it the ideal product for the prevention of Leishmaniasis and other diseases and parasites for which the mosquito is a vehicle.
The pipettes have a double effect:
- Repellent and treatment against different species of dog fleas and ticks
- Anti-sting and killing of sandflies and mosquitoes
Exspot pipettes can be used in dogs of all ages over two weeks of age.
Dosage and administration
Each pipette contains 1 ml of anti-parasitic solution, to be applied to areas of the skin where the dog cannot lick itself. The product should preferably be applied before the start of the season in which the parasites appear. It is possible to apply one or more pipettes and use different dosages, depending on the size and weight of the dog:
- Dogs weighing between 2.5 kg and 14 kg: 1 pipette of 1 ml.
- Dogs weighing between 15 and 29 kg: 2 pipettes of 1 ml.
- Dogs weighing between 30 and 40 kg: 3 pipettes of 1 ml.
To apply the pipettes, follow the recommended dosage instructions.
Hold the dog still and apply as follows depending on the number of pipettes to be used:
- a single pipette: pour onto the skin of the back, between the two shoulder blades;
- two pipettes: apply the pesticide in two different points of the back, i.e. between the shoulder blades and on the rump;
- three pipettes: apply on the back, rump and base of the tail.
It is possible to use non-medicated shampoos before applying the pesticide, without this negatively influencing its effectiveness.
If the dog was subjected to bathing, the protection period would be reduced, depending on the quantity of water that came into contact with the skin.
Exspot can be applied at intervals of no less than two weeks, without causing side reactions or symptoms of intoxication.
To reduce reinfestations, it is recommended to treat all dogs present in the home environment and all cohabiting pets.
We also recommend an adequate environmental treatment against adult fleas and their developing stages.
