Therapeutic indications

Treatment and prevention of flea and/or tick infestations. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (fad). Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (ctenocephalides spp.): The immediate insecticidal efficacy against new adult flea infestations persists for 9 weeks. Prevention for 8 weeks after application of flea multiplication by inhibiting the hatching of flea eggs (ovicidal activity) and the development of eggs (and subsequent deposition) in adult fleas. Treatment and prevention of tick infestation (dermacentor reticulatus, rhipicephalus sanguineus): the product has immediate and lasting acaricidal efficacy for 6 weeks after application.

Dosage and administration

Dosage: one pipette per animal corresponding to the minimum recommended dose of 12 mg/kg body weight (b.w.) of fipronil and 6 mg/kg b.w. of (s)-methoprene. Via: spot-on. Administration: how to apply: disconnect one of the blister packs from the blister card. This will prevent accidental opening of the adjacent blister, protecting the still unopened pipettes from exposure to humidity. Open the blister with scissors. To avoid damaging the pipette, cut along the line marked with the scissors icon. Carefully open the cover from the cut end and remove the pipette. Keep the pipette in a vertical position. Tap lightly to ensure that the entire liquid contents are inside the main body of the pipette. Bend the top strip of the pipette backwards. If necessary, you can rest the pipette. To open the pipette, break the top along the indicated line. Open the coat between the shoulder blades to make the skin visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze the pipette several times to empty the contents completely and directly onto the skin at one point. Applying the solution near the base of the neck minimizes the possibility of the animal licking the solution off. Pay particular attention after application that multiple animals do not lick the solution off each other. Pay due attention to avoid excessively wetting the hair with the product, since it would then take on a sticky appearance at the treatment site. Treatment may be repeated every 6 weeks in dogs or as deemed appropriate for the type and level of parasite exposure. In the absence of specific studies, treatment must not be repeated at intervals of less than 2 weeks.
