Therapeutic Indications
Sterile Hydrophilic Gauze 10x10 cm is indicated for the management of all situations in which it is necessary to isolate, absorb or dress a wound. It can be used as a primary dressing in direct contact with exuding wounds or as a secondary covering on wounds treated with other specific medical devices, such as advanced dressings, gels or foams. It is suitable for use on acute injuries, including surgical wounds, cuts, abrasions, scratches, abrasions and skin microtraumas. Thanks to the sterility guaranteed by the hermetic packaging, it can also be used in the surgical field for the protection of post-operative wounds and the collection of blood during invasive practices. The highly absorbent properties of the gauze allow it to effectively plug superficial haemorrhages and exudative secretions, reducing maceration of the periwound skin and promoting the creation of an environment conducive to healing. It can also be used during dressing procedures for skin ulcers, bedsores, superficial burns and injuries from sports traumas or domestic accidents.
Composition
Main components: The gauze is made of pure hydrophilic cotton, a material known for its high capacity to absorb liquids and its softness, which makes it particularly suitable for coming into direct contact with sensitive and damaged tissues. Totally free of irritating substances, it does not contain latex or other potentially allergenic additives, thus guaranteeing maximum skin tolerability even in subjects predisposed to developing dermatitis or other allergic reactions. The gauze fabric is worked to offer good cohesion of the fibres, reducing the risk of release of filaments on the wound and offering a resistant but flexible structure, capable of easily adapting to different anatomical shapes. The sterility standard is obtained thanks to industrial sterilization processes (usually ethylene oxide or steam) which ensure the total elimination of pathogens or contaminants, guaranteeing safety of use in both home and hospital dressings.
Contraindications
Do not use Sterile Hydrophilic Gauze in case of known or suspected sensitivity towards cotton or components of the gauze itself. Do not apply directly to deep wounds requiring medical evaluation or third degree burns without prior medical consultation, as specific advanced devices are required in these cases. Precautions

Method of administration

In chronic wounds, ulcers or bedsores, a more frequent change may be necessary in the presence of abundant secretions, always taking into account clinical evaluation and surveillance. Hydrophilic gauze can be used as an integral part of more complex dressing protocols which involve combining it with disinfectants, antibiotic creams or advanced systems for managing skin lesions. In all cases, it is essential to scrupulously respect the prescriptions received and not change the treatment program without medical consultation.
