Bacterial or viral infectious pathologies, metabolic disorders, renal failure, liver failure, stressful situations associated with an incorrect diet, induce a state of debilitation which can result in a poor appetite up to a state of real anorexia. In these cases the situation is particularly serious and quickly leads to:
• Alteration of the absorption of liquids at the intestinal level with phenomena of constipation, hardening of the stool and formation of trichobezoars.
• Gastric and cecal meteorism phenomena with colic and hypomotility.
• Alterations of the intestinal bacterial flora
• Total anorexia, hepatic lipidosis, death.
It is a micronised, soluble food, rich in fibre, specifically designed to also force-feed all small herbivores in general: bunnies, chinchillas, small rodents, small herbivorous reptiles and chelonians.
It is essential, in case of anorexia or constipation, to force the animal to ingest food for two reasons:
1. promote the resumption of peristalsis by accelerating the emptying of the constipated stomach.
2. provide nutrition and calories to the subject undergoing prolonged fasting.
