PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY: Antifungals for topical use - imidazole and triazole derivatives.
COMPOSITION:
Active ingredients: 1ml contains enilconazole 100 mg.
Excipients: Polysorbate 20, sorbitan monolaurate.
INDICATIONS:
Enilconazole is indicated for the treatment of dog dermatophytosis caused by: Trichophyton mentagrophytes; Trichophyton verrucosum; Microsporum canis; Microsporum gypseum. Polysorbate 20, sorbitan monolaurate.
CONTRAINDICATIONS/SIDE EFFECTS: Hypersensitivity towards the components.
PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: Cutaneous solution
USE/ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION: Topical
DOSAGE: Imaverol concentrated solution is diluted in 50 parts of warm water to obtain an emulsion of 0.2% enilconazole (2000 ppm). 100 ml of Imaverol should therefore be emulsified using 5 liters of warm water. The treatment consists of 4 applications with an interval of 3-4 days between each other. In severe cases, treatment may be prolonged.
Treatment: since the dermatophytes extend up to the hair follicle, before treatment remove the crusts with a hard brush, previously soaked in the diluted Imaverol emulsion. It is necessary to completely wet the animal at the first application in order to reach even subclinical lesions. The ready emulsion must be applied using a sponge.
During application, rub against the fur to obtain more even moistening of the skin; long-haired dogs should be clipped before treatment; dogs can also be immersed in a tub containing the diluted solution. For a complete treatment.
Small dogs. Volume of imaverol: 40ml; volume of diluted emulsion: 2 litres. Medium sized dogs. Volume of imaverol: 70ml; volume of diluted emulsion: 3.5 litres. Large dogs. Volume of imaverol: 100ml; volume of diluted emulsion: 5 litres.
STORAGE:
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. The diluted emulsion must be prepared at the time of use. And
any residues must be disposed of in a tightly closed bottle, such as expired medicines. Keep the product out of the reach of children.
Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product packaged for sale: 3 years. Shelf life of the undiluted medicine after first opening the primary packaging: 3 months.
WARNINGS: Do not use on cats. Special precautions for use in animals: For external use only. The use of the product must be done after preparing a diluted emulsion.
It is advisable to wash everything that has come into contact with the sick animal (dog bed, muzzle and leash).
Special precautions to be taken by the person who administers the product to animals. People with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient must avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product.
Use waterproof gloves. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, wash thoroughly with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. In case of accidental ingestion, rinse mouth with water and contact a doctor. Wash your hands after use.
