Farmina Vet Life Cardiac is a complete dietetic food intended for adult dogs, indicated for the support of cardiac function in case of chronic heart failure. This food has a low sodium concentration and an increased K/Na ratio.

COMPOSITION

Oats, spelt, dehydrated chicken meat, animal fats, fish oil, linseed, maize gluten, hydrolysed animal proteins, dried whole eggs, dehydrated fish, pea vegetable fibre, dried beet pulp, potassium chloride, calcium carbonate, fructooligosaccharides (FOS), mannose-based oligosaccharides extracted from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, monodicalcium phosphate, yeast dried beer, green tea extract (source of polyphenols), marigold flower extract (source of lutein).

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The modified Cl/K/Na ratio compensates for electrolyte imbalances due to myocardiopathy and/or pharmacological treatment. Taurine supplementation helps regulate the contractile function of the myocardium, modulating cellular ion exchange. The addition of L-carnitine affects lipid metabolism and energy availability. In the early stages of the disease it is possible to reduce the ration to encourage weight loss, while in the advanced stages, the high biological value of the proteins and the high digestibility of the diet help to prevent cardiac cachexia.
