Therapeutic indications

Calming pheromones are primarily recommended to comfort cats displaying inappropriate behaviors, such as urinary marking in indoor environments and excessive scratching caused by stressful situations. They are also recommended to help pet cats with stressful situations such as changes in their environment, moves to a new home, exposure to loud noises and social events. The zenifel diffuser uses a long-lasting device technology that allows the diffusion of the pheromone for 6 weeks.

Dosage and administration

For urinary marking: clean all traces of urine, place the diffuser in the room where the urine was released and use for at least 2 months continuously; for scratches: from the first moment the scratches are discovered, place the diffuser in the room where the scratches are found and use for at least 2 months continuously; for environments where multiple cats live/moving to a new home/home renovation: 24 hours before introducing the cat into the home, place at least one diffuser in the room where the new cat will live (ideally, one in each room frequented by cats) and use on average for 2 months; for stressful events (the arrival of guests, parties, loud noises such as fireworks or thunderstorms): if possible at least 24 hours before the start of the stressful events when they can be anticipated, place the diffuser in the room(s) frequented by the cat and use for the entire duration of the stressful event.
