Therapeutic indications

The 5% solution is only rehydrating. The 33% and 50% solutions are energetic rehydrators and intended for fluid therapy in pathologies that require restoration of hydration conditions in association with a caloric intake and in the restoration of blood glucose concentrations in case of hypoglycemia.

Dosage and administration

Administer the product intravenously at a controlled infusion rate under veterinary medical supervision. Hypertonic solutions must be administered slowly into large-caliber veins. The rate of glucose utilization is approximately 800 mg per kg body weight per hour. The 33% and 50% solutions must be administered into large-caliber veins. The recommended dosage is as follows: large animals (cattle, horses): 0.7 – 1.0 g/Kg; dogs and cats: 1.0 – 1.5 g/Kg. The dose can be varied at the discretion of the veterinary surgeon.
