Composition
Galenica Lactated Ringer contains a balanced solution of electrolytes in water for injections, with the following composition per 1000 ml:

- Potassium chloride (KCl): essential for nerve and muscle function, potassium contributes to intracellular electrolyte balance.
- Calcium chloride (CaCl2): important for muscle contraction, blood clotting and nerve transmission.
- Sodium lactate: plays a key role in maintaining the acid-base balance, acting as a metabolic buffer and preventing acidosis.
This isotonic solution guarantees an electrolyte balance close to the physiological one, reducing the risk of imbalances such as hypernatremia or hypokalemia.

Contraindications
Galenica Lactated Ringer should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the solution, to avoid allergic or idiosyncratic adverse reactions.

Use in patients with significant hypercalcemia is not recommended, as calcium infusion may interfere with the clinical picture.
