YOUR DOG IS UNIQUE
ACANA is perfect for dogs of all sizes and at every life stage. Just like you, your dog is unique and its nutritional needs vary based on the environment, age and activity of the animal.
Use a standard 250ml/120g measuring cup. Serve dry or slightly moistened. We recommend that you visit your trusted veterinarian regularly. To best maintain the freshness of the product, we recommend carefully closing the bag and storing it in a cool, dry place.
CALORIE CONTENT
Unique compared to conventional foods, ACANA provides more calories from proteins and fats than carbohydrates, reducing the risk of obesity and promoting optimal shape for your dog.
Metabolisable Energy 3850 kcal/kg (462 kcal for a 250 ml/120 g cup), which comes 36% from proteins, 24% from fruit and vegetables and 40% from fats.

The gray wolf is the ancestor of all dogs. Although years and years of breeding have produced "different-looking wolves," their internal functions have remained unchanged, so it's no wonder their dietary needs are unchanged.
Our philosophy for Biologically Appropriate foods is simple: reproduce the quantity, freshness and variety of animal ingredients that dogs evolved with, while limiting the content of carbohydrates and synthetic ingredients.
RICH IN ANIMAL INGREDIENTS (70%) AND PROTEINS (35%)
The dog is carnivorous and, from a biological point of view, has evolved by eating a diet rich in meat. With their sharp teeth, single-jointed jaw and short digestive tract, dogs are anatomically designed to break down proteins and fats from meat.
For this reason, ACANA Wild Prairie contains 70% animal ingredients, including free-range chicken and turkey, whole nest eggs and wild-caught fish – all declared fit for human consumption before being included in our foods.
Completely free from potato and pea protein concentrates, ACANA's high protein content comes from animal (non-vegetable) ingredients, which promote lean muscle mass and provide dogs with all the nutrients they need.
HIGH AMOUNT OF FRESH ANIMAL INCLUSIONS (1/2)
We use fresh animal ingredients in their most nutritious and natural form. For this reason, 1/2 of the poultry and fish in ACANA Wild Prairie are fresh and 1/2 are dehydrated or in the form of oil, to provide a concentrated source of rich meat proteins.

ANIMAL INGREDIENTS IN WHOLE PREY PROPORTIONS (WHOLEPREY™)
With her infinite wisdom, Mother Nature ensured that animals, in their entirety, contained all the nutrients necessary to perfectly satisfy the dietary needs of dogs. Muscle meat contains protein and fat; internal organs provide vitamins and minerals; bones and cartilage provide calcium and phosphorus.
ACANA ingredients are in WholePrey™ ratios of meat, organs and cartilage that deliver nutrients in a highly bioavailable form – dramatically reducing the need to add vitamins or synthetic additives to our foods.
CARBOHYDRATES LIMITED TO (25%)
The dog's nutritional needs do not include carbohydrates and their content in his diet is low or non-existent. It has been established that carbohydrates are one of the main causes of obesity and diabetes - despite this, common dog foods often contain over 50% of them.
For this reason, ACANA limits the overall carbohydrate content and replaces fast-digesting carbohydrates, such as those from rice, tapioca and potatoes, with low-glycemic index fruits and vegetables such as pumpkin and other vegetables. The latter enter the blood slowly, allowing you to avoid spikes in blood glucose levels and reducing the potential accumulation of fat.
